Our school, with its caring and innovative environment, inspires our students to pursue their goals and dreams. As a community of learners, we strive for high standards of academic achievement and responsible citizenship while promoting a safe atmosphere of mutual respect and trust. We believe that collaboration is the best route to success.

The school administration reserves the right to implement regulations that may be necessary to maintain a safe and caring school environment.

As part of the Medicine Hat School Division, we support the Principles, Values and Beliefs outlined in the Division’s Education Plan. In addition, our school adds the following core values:

Students at Medicine Hat High School are expected to dress and groom themselves in a manner that is fitting for school and for making a smooth transition to the workplace.  Extremes of styles, and clothing that contain offensive/hurtful language or symbols, are not appropriate. Extremes in clothing would include, but not be limited to: beach wear, strapless tops, halter tops/dresses, spaghetti strap tops, low cut tops, short tops revealing waist/midriff and short shorts, short skirts and low cut/hipster pants.  All violations will be dealt with on an individual basis. Students in violation of the dress code are required to cover up or change their clothing and may be sent home to do so.  Subsequent violations may result in a suspension.

Headgear is not to be worn in the school. Headgear (hats/hoodies) worn in the school during school hours will be confiscated.  Confiscated headwear can be retrieved on the last day of each semester.
