Mike Seitz

I was born in Medicine Hat and grew up on a farm south of the city.
After attending a rural school up to grade 7, my next two schools were Alexandra Junior High (as it was known then), and Medicine Hat High School.  I graduated from Hat High in 1970 (you do the math!)
After high school, I attended Medicine Hat College for two years and then transferred to the University of Lethbridge to complete my degree for teaching.
My first two teaching assignments were in the County of Newell (around Brooks) and the County of Forty-Mile (around Foremost).  I never intended to return to Medicine Hat (let alone Medicine Hat High School) to teach, but that's what happened next.  I've been teaching at Hat High continuously since 1982 (you can do the math again).
When I'm not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two daughters (who are both Hat High graduates), and spending as much time as possible outdoors.  Boating  and fishing are two of my favorite pastimes, besides reading.
