WISEST at U of A offers opportunities for Grade 11 students - Attention GIRLS!

WISEST presents the WISEST Summer Research Program, an amazing opportunity at the University of Alberta for grade 11 students to learn first-hand about careers in science, engineering and technology.

Background information about WISEST and the Summer Research Program:

  • WISEST (Women in Scholarship, Engineering and Technology) is an award-winning unit of the Vice-President (Research) at the U of A, dedicated to encouraging young people to broaden their awareness of less-traditional fields of study, such as science, engineering and technology.
  • The WISEST Summer Research Program provides an opportunity for young women and men in grade 11 to work for six weeks as a paid research assistant under the guidance of U of A faculty.
  • The students become more knowledgeable about diverse careers, they explore their interests and they develop confidence to succeed in these fields.
  • Another bonus for the students is that they earn a wage while they are learning.
  • Both male and female students in grade 11 are encouraged to apply to WISEST. The program takes place July 3rd to August 14th, 2013 at the University of Alberta.
